Tomorrow will be the first of July marking the first of the remaining 3 days of my 30 days of prayer and fasting. I thought by running to the eve of July the 4th would be appropriate, as then Independence Day would be the Lord's according to the prophecy given a year ago.
Today, I awoke and spent time with the Lord, and it was like being handed a special invitation, with a need to extend by one day to complete a special observance in accordance to the first 4 steps of the Song of Degrees or The Song of Ascension. These are the psalms of David that pilgrims would sing as they would approach Jerusalem at festival time.
America is fast approaching its own festival time of great celebration on the 4th of July. We are all on that road to reach Independence Day, for many it will be a time of joyous celebration with family and friends, for others like myself, it is more likely to be a time of reflection on all that has been prayed for concerning the spiritual state of the worldwide church.
For those of you who have been following my posts for the last month, please consider joining me on this final journey of ascension for these first 4 days of July. The Psalms 120-123 are short but powerful and excellent to reflect and meditate over, both in celebration and thanksgiving to God for deliverance from those forces that would hold us back from freely worshipping Christ!
I will post one psalm per day for July 1st - 4th, starting with Psalm 120 tomorrow.
